Co-op forms to supply beets for biochemicals

Nov. 21, 2016 - A recently formed co-op of Ontario beet farmers hopes to build a processing facility in Sarnia, Ont., to supply sugar for biochemical producers.

The Ontario Innovative Sugarbeet Processors Cooperative has launched a project through Bioindustrial Innovation Canada to determine the viability of commercially producing sugar beet sugar for use in biochemical manufacturing.
