Surrey breaks ground on biofuel facility

According to Surrey Now, the renewable natural gas produced from the community’s residential and commercial garbage will be used to fuel the city’s waste collection vehicles as well as the district energy system.

The new facility will mark the construction of North America’s first closed loop, fully integrated waste management system, processing an expected annual volume of 115,000 tonnes of waste.
