AB firm to produce natural fibre parts for auto industry

December 11, 2012 Written by TTS
December 11, 2012, Drayton Valley, AB - The BioComposites Group (BCG) signed a sales agency agreement with Techstyles Inc., a leading automotive manufacturer's representative based in Bingham Farms, Michigan.

BCG will be manufacturing auto parts that are designed to replace traditional fiberglass auto parts, with lighter natural fibres such as wood, flax and/or hemp resulting in better vehicle fuel efficiency, and sound-dampening qualities. "We are excited about partnering with Techstyles. Their team's connections across the automotive value chain are ideal for bringing our innovative natural fiber mats to the North American automotive industry," said Dan Madlung, CEO of BCG.

Techstyles has operated as a manufacturer's representative for over 30 years specializing in automotive interior applications. "The price volatility of petroleum based products and the auto industry's shift towards lightweight and environmentally friendly parts make BCG products a perfect fit for our portfolio," said Bill Vaughn, CEO of Techstyles. Techstyles continues to promote new technologies with particular emphasis on "green" applications in automotive interiors.
