Biomass potential of Territories to be studied
Mar. 3, 2011, Yellowknife – Investments by the Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency will help four initiatives that support northern innovation and knowledge to move forward. An investment of $426,000 for research and training projects will help the Northwest Territories and Nunavut strengthen information technology, energy, and educational sectors of the economy. With additional contributions from project proponents and the Territorial governments, the projects have a total value of more than $500,000. The funding will support four projects in the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, one of which involves research into the potential to use local willow as biomass fuel.
