Nov. 14, 2011, Sheffield, UK - Plans for a new £120 million biomass
power plant from E.on in South Yorkshire have been unveiled, with
operation planned for mid-2014.
According to a report from BBC News, the new plant will generate power from wood waste, resulting in up to 30 megawatts of electricity (enough to power 40,000 homes), and will use local companies for as much of the construction as possible.
Construction is set to begin at the end of this month.
