Dec. 5, 2011, Washington, DC - A new company, ECo Biomass Technologies has been created to bring torrefied biofuels to market.
According to an article in Woodworking Network, ECo Biomass Technologies is a joint venture between oil giant ConocoPhillips and Enviva with a goal of bringing torrefied wood pellets to consumers beginning as early as 2013.
By co-firing the pellets with coal, utilities can extend the life of existing coal
burning facilities and infrastructure without significant capital
investment, says Enviva.
