German consortium abandons nuclear power
March 30, 2012, Germany - According to the Argus Media, German utilities RWE and Eon no longer plan to develop new nuclear power in the UK through the Horizon consortium, a move that spells good news for bioenergy advocates.

The consortium, which was established to develop nuclear power at Oldbury and Wylfa, had been due to announce which technology it would use for Wylfa in April or May. The Infrastructure Planning Commission expected planning permission applications for Wylfa in the second half of 2013 and Oldbury in the second quarter 2014. Visit ArgusMedia.com for more info.
