Oregon to remove coal from energy mix

According to an article from The Seattle Times, Governor Kate Brown signed the new bill into law on March 11. The bill pledges to remove coal power from the energy mix by 2030, and increase power production from renewable energy sources to 50 per cent by 2040.

Hawaii and Vermont both have a history of running coal-free, but Oregon becomes the first state that uses coal-energy to plan to remove its use.
