Waste-to-energy facility to break ground in N.S.

Aug. 16, 2016 - Halifax-based Sustane Technologies has signed a deal with Chester, N.S., to build a $16-million waste to energy facility – the first of its kind in North America. 

 

The facility will turn 90 per cent of solid waste into biomass pellets, recyclable materials, and, eventually, diesel fuel. Sustane plans to break ground this fall and be in operation by late 2017.
