A look inside Shaw Resources Belledune pellet operation

Canadian Biomass was part of the Wood Pellet Association of Canada post-conference tour last week that brought visitors to Shaw Resources 100,000 tonne per-year industrial pellet plant in Belledune, N.B.

The plant mixes softwood, hardwood and bark to produce industrial pellets for U.K. utility Drax. A new PDI dryer was installed last October to increase the plant’s drying capacity, according to operations manager Robert Boyd.
