Active Energy under investigation
Jan. 30, 2015 – Active Energy, company based in London, England, is being investigated for their dealings with three aboriginal groups in Alberta. The company formed the joint venture to form a forestry and natural resources development corporation (Kaquo) to commercialize 250,000 hectares of Métis land.

According to the Edmonton Journal, “Kaquo would pay the three settlements for the rights to harvestable timber — saw logs for lumber, plus wood chips that could become fuel for a yet-to-be-built power plant.”
