Aeon hires BC Bioenergy’s Stanners

December 1, 2014, Huntsville, Ala. – Aeon Energy Solutions, Inc. announced the appointment of Dr. Scott Stanners of Vancouver, BC to Vice President of Business Development and Technical Services, effective November 27, 2014. Dr. Stanners’ brings a wealth of sector expertise and an international network in the bioeconomy. Dr. Stanners will be responsible for project feasibility, technology assessments, and business development.

Inc. announced the appointment of Dr. Scott Stanners of Vancouver, BC to Vice
President of Business Development and Technical Services, effective November
27, 2014. Dr. Stanners’ brings a wealth of sector expertise and an
international network in the bioeconomy. Dr. Stanners will be responsible for
project feasibility, technology assessments, and business development.

feasibility studies, and project management in the bioenergy sector will be a
well-timed addition to Aeon Energy Solutions team,” said Joe Majka, President
& CEO. “Scott has an excellent reputation in the renewable energy sector
and the credibility he brings will aid in increasing our rapidly expanding
project load.”

Dr. Stanners is Director of Business Development, Technology
and Innovation at BC Bioenergy Network, a funding agency that provides capital
to projects that demonstrate innovative bioenergy technologies. To date, the
firm has invested $19 million in 22 projects in the forest, municipal and
agriculture sectors.

 

Scott manages a monthly gathering for bioenergy professionals
in Vancouver called the West Coast Bioenergy Guild where the premise is to
develop a foundation of trust to accelerate the sector. He is a mentor and
judge in the BC Innovation Council's New Ventures Competition and a mentor at
Connecting Environmental Professionals.

 

Scott earned a Bachelor of Science from The University of
Calgary, Canada and a PhD at The University of Sydney, Australia, where he was
on a full scholarship throughout his candidature and received numerous awards.
Scott was awarded a Graduate Certificate in Innovation and Enterprise from the
Business School at The University of Sydney.
