Albany biomass facility supplying energy and steam

March 31, 2017 - A biomass facility in Albany, N.Y., is preparing to use wood chips for fuel in a new way. The Albany Green Energy biomass plant will be supplying energy to Georgia Power and steam to Procter & Gamble and Marine Corps Logistics Base-Albany.

The Albany Herald reported that testing began last week.

“This structure and the construct of this asset having a power off-take with the local utilities, a steam off-take with a commercial industrial customer and then a steam off-take with a federal customer is exceptionally unique,” Brenden Quinlivan, executive director of distributed energy origination for Constellation told the Albany Herald
