Ecostrat is pleased to announce that Alder has joined the BDO Zone Strategic Alliance as a member of the Project Partner Group. BDO Zone Strategic Alliance partners are leading companies in the bioenergy sector that help accelerate and de-risk biobased project development in BDO Zones.

Alder converts abundant and sustainably sourced biomass into low-carbon to carbon-negative Alder Renewable Crude (ARC) which can be refined into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), other low-carbon fuels, and renewable chemicals using global refinery equipment and infrastructure. They have also demonstrated that their foundational ARC platform can be converted into the first 100 per cent non-fossil jet fuel – Alder SAF100.

Tim Obitts, Alder CEO, commented, “At Alder, abundant sustainable biomass is essential to our business. Equally important is developing relationships with local communities that support and directly benefit from our work to decarbonize critical parts of the U.S. economy. As we start to develop projects to produce our foundational Alder Renewable Crude platform at scale, we will also be focused on positively impacting these communities. To that end, we are thrilled to join the BDO Zone Strategic Alliance, and to listen and learn as we begin to deploy our technology at commercial scale.”

Jordan Solomon, president of Ecostrat stated, “The BDO Zone Initiative is proud to welcome Alder as our newest Strategic Alliance partner. We are delighted to collaborate with a visionary company that shares our passion for transforming underutilized biomass into powerful, sustainable energy solutions, such as sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). Alder’s dedication to promoting a cleaner and more vibrant bioeconomy perfectly aligns with our mission to drive the growth of alternative biobased fuel sources while creating positive impacts in the communities where these innovations will thrive. Together, we look forward to accelerating the transition towards a more sustainable and prosperous future for all.”

American biomass is an economic development engine with the potential to create 160,000 jobs and nearly $15 billion of economic benefit. In Canada, the national economic impact potential is estimated at 16,060 direct, indirect, and induced jobs and over $1.48 billion annually of economic benefit. The BDO Zone Initiative can help North America realize this potential by identifying and rating the best areas in North America for new plants that make bioenergy, advanced biofuels, biobased heat and power, biomaterials, and clean hydrogen.
