Argonne lab receives research award

Mar. 6, 2012 - The Argonne National Laboratory has received a Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for a technology improving the processing of biomass feedstocks into biofuels and chemicals.

Federal Laboratory Consortium Award for a technology improving the
processing of biomass feedstocks into biofuels and chemicals.
According to an article in Renewable Energy Focus, the research created resin wafer
electrodeionisation technology, which removes charged particles and thus significantly reduces the cost of
producing biofuels.
"The implications of this resin wafer electrodeionisation technology are both positive and exciting,” says Seth Snyder, the biochemical engineer who developed the technology.
