Atlantic premiers plan to grow clean energy sector

April 17, 2017 - Premiers in Atlantic Canada plan to develop a new partnership among the provinces this summer that will work towards growing the region's clean energy sector.

The Globe and Mail reports that the premiers met in Saint John, N.B., last week where they pledged to co-operate to ensure the region has access to reliable green energy at competitive rates.

“It may mean there is more co-operation in buying and trading energy between our region,” New Brunswick Premier Brian Gallant told reporters at a news conference. “It may mean that we are going to work together to export more to markets in the region or the United States.”
