November 25, 2013, Vancouver, B.C. – The Government of
British Columbia, in cooperation with the Wood Pellet Association of Canada,
has released a report on the province’s sustainable biomass supply.

The fact sheet contains information about British Columbia’s
sustainable forest management practices, highlighting the province’s work in
balancing both environmental and economic interests. That balance has provided
the province with strong resources for wood pellet production, which currently
exceeds 1.8 million tonnes annually.

The document will help to build new export markets for wood
pellets producers in B.C. In addition to the current figures provided, the fact
sheet also includes information on the future growth potential for B.C. pellet
production and the GHG lifecycle emissions using pellets from the province.
