Biden administration eyes 2050 for the replacement of jet fuel with sustainable alternatives

Replacing all jet fuel with sustainable alternatives is a goal set by the Biden administration for realization in 2050.

By the end of the decade, sustainable aviation fuel produced from waste and plants could reduce flight emissions by 20 per cent, the administration adds.

The use of sustainable aviation fuel is still in its early stages, but airlines see it as the key component of emissions reduction with the goal of becoming carbon-neutral by mid-century.
