Biochar seed pod helps drones plant thousands of trees daily

A company based in South Africa and Australia is using a biochar seed pod to improve the germination success rate of trees planted from drones.

AirSeed Technologies, founded by Andries Louw and Andrew Walker, have invented a method of planting up to 40,000 seeds in a day.

The biochar acts as a natural fertilizer so that seeds do not need to be pre-germinated, which means a lighter payload for each drone, Business Insider South Africa reports.
