Province signs off on Botwood biofuel plant

Feb. 21, 2017 - The Newfoundland and Labrador government has signed an agreement in principle to see a $185-million biofuel plant built in Botwood.

CBC News reports the agreement with NewGreen Technologies includes fibre arrangements with the government to support the project. The project involves a sawmill producing floor boards and a biofuel plant that creates biodiesel from the sawmill’s residuals.
