Jan. 18, 2019 - World Energy, SkyNRG and AEG Fuels completed the delivery of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to Bombardier Business Aircraft. As a part of the OEM’s environmental leadership and commitment to industry objectives to reducing emissions, the SAF was used for a flight on a Challenger 350 jet flying from Bradley International Airport (BDL) in Hartford, Conn., to the Business Jets Fuel Green event at the Van Nuys Airport in Van Nuys, Calif.

The SAF is sourced by SkyNRG from World Energy’s Paramount refinery in Los Angeles, currently the only SAF refinery worldwide, and delivered by AEG Fuels and SkyNRG. Bombardier’s Challenger 350 aircraft completed the successful biofuel-powered flight on Jan. 16.

“We’re proud to supply sustainable aviation fuel for Bombardier Business Aircraft, jointly with World Energy and AEG Fuels. We hope that the Bombardier Business Aircraft flights on SAF are an inspiration for others in the industry and will be followed by a more structural use of SAF in business aviation.” said Eline Schapers, Head of Sales, Supply and Operations at SkyNRG.

The flight to the Business Jets Fuel Green Event follow regular successful SAF flights by Bombardier’s demonstration fleet both in the US and Europe.
