November 11, 2013, Washington, D.C. – With several
commercial-scale plants set to come online in the next 12-18 months, cellulosic
ethanol may soon become a critical player in the biofuel market in the
U.S.

A story in the November 8th edition of The
Washington Post looked at the long-awaited emergence of the cellulosic ethanol
market in the United States, and the impact it has had on the debate about the
Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS).

The Environmental Protection Agency had projected that
cellulosic ethanol would already be in mass production leading in to 2014, but
delays in refinement and plant construction has delayed it from being produced
in commercial volumes.
