Less support from Ottawa for biofuel industry

July 26, 2013, Halifax, N.S. – The federal government will no longer be offering increased financial support for the biofuel industry after more than $1 billion has already been invested, says agriculture minister Gerry Ritz.

Ritz said that the
investments that were made have built the industry as large as it's going to
get, and that the plan for an increase in ethanol content to 10 per cent from
five per cent is not realistic.
