Oslo first to offer permanent bio jet fuel supply

November 19, 2014, Oslo, Norway – Oslo Gardermoen airport has become the first airport in the world to offer a full-time supply of bio jet fuel for commercial flights.

fuel for commercial flights.

 

According to a report from The Nordic Page, Statoil Aviation
is set to deliver 2.5 million gallons of biofuel to storage tanks at the
airport starting in March of 2015. The fuel will be available for use by
airlines flying out of the airport.

Norweigan Air Shuttle and SAS Scandinavian Airlines began
flights using bio jet fuel earlier this month. Statoil has also signed
agreements with the Lufthansa Group, SAS and KLM to supply biofuel for those
airlines in Oslo.
