This announcement has assisted Benefuel in prioritizing its expansion efforts, given that British Columbia has specific target volumes for biodiesel blending and carbon reductions, as well as enticing funding support.
Sept. 12, 2018 - Enerkem has successfully produced a clean, renewable bio-dimethyl ether (Bio-DME), a by-product of biomethanol, that could help address global climate change efficiently by replacing the use of diesel fuel in the transportation sector.
Aug. 22, 2018 - The City of Vancouver has signed a contract with Suncor to transition all its city vehicles to 100 per cent renewable diesel. The city claims the move will reduce its vehicle emissions to 50 per cent below 2007 levels by the end of 2019.  
July 11, 2018 - Cherokee Freight Lines, a Northern California trucking company, has switched its entire fleet of more than 200 trucks to run on Neste MY Renewable Diesel.
June 19, 2018 - Fuel Delivery Services, Inc. (FDS), a bulk transporter of refined petroleum products based in Stockton, Calif., recently switched their Stockton based fleet of trucks to Neste MY Renewable Diesel. FDS provides transportation services seven days a week, 365 days a year to a variety of clients, from small jobbers to major oil companies.
May 8, 2018 - The Pasadena Fire Department, a California city northeast of Los Angeles, has switched much of its fleet of apparatus from operating on petroleum diesel to using Neste MY Renewable Diesel. The department currently operates one truck, four engines and four Rescue Ambulances on renewable diesel and plans to transition all remaining apparatus to renewable diesel by 2019.
May 4, 2018 - On May 2 an Air Canada Airbus A320-200 aircraft flew from Edmonton to San Francisco with biofuel, the company announced. The flight was scheduled for the trade mission delegation led by the Alberta government, the City of Edmonton and Edmonton-area businesses to California.
Nov. 9, 2017 - Darling Ingredients Inc. and Valero Energy Corporation announced today that in anticipation of growing demand for renewable diesel due to the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) and global low carbon markets, they will initiate an engineering and construction cost review to analyze an additional project growing annual production capacity to 550 million gallons at the Diamond Green Diesel (DGD) facility in Norco, LA.
Sept. 22, 2017 - Cargill announced Thursday plans to build a state-of-the-art $90 million biodiesel plant in Wichita, Kansas. Set to open January 2019, it will produce 60 million gallons of biodiesel annually.
May 17, 2017 - Hamilton, Ont.-based BIOX is working to complete upgrades to its Sombra, Ont., biodiesel facility this year and looking to transition from an expansion focus to operating its assets and strengthening its balance sheet, the company CEO said in its second quarter report.
March 21, 2017 - Edmonton's Forge Hydrocarbons will begin construction of a $25-million biodiesel manufacturing plant at a BIOX Corporation site near Sombra, Ont., as early as this fall.
Feb. 21, 2017 - The Newfoundland and Labrador government has signed an agreement in principle to see a $185-million biofuel plant built in Botwood.
Jan. 19, 2017 - Renewable energy company BIOX, in a joint venture with World Energy BIOX Biofuels LLC (WEBB), has completed the commissioning of its 90 million U.S. gallon (USG) nameplate capacity biodiesel production facility in Houston, Texas. The facility started operating at full capacity in December 2016.

Oct. 13, 2016 - The co-owners of U.S. biodiesel company Triton Energy LLC pleaded guilty to defrauding the U.S. government’s renewable fuel support program and a tax credit program in an Indiana court this week.
Sept. 16, 2016 - The Quebec government is contributing a grant of up to $1.5 million to Bioénergie La Tuque (BELT) to support techno-economic feasibility studies. The studies are a preliminary step prior to the development of a forest-based biorefinery planned for 2023.
