Dec. 1, 2011 – The Carbon Trust and the Biomass Energy Centre are helping businesses take advantage of the new Renewable Heat
Incentive through an interactive map, allowing consumers to find nearby suppliers.

According to an article published in Business Green, the primary function of the map is to serve as a reference for future biomass consumers, and help them choose a proper location that is close to suppliers. Both The Carbon Trust and the Biomass Energy Centre say that a lack of information regarding the location of suppliers is one of the biggest difficulty for biomass boiler installations.

Benj Sykes, the Director of Innovation at the Carbon Trust, said that the new
map should help "provide confidence to sites contemplating installing
biomass heating, that fuel can be found for their boilers".
