August 26, 2015 – Nova Scotia’s Department of Energy is requesting information about the impact of stopping some of the province’s biomass projects.
According to a CBC report, the information request sent to Nova Scotia Power is in response to the booming cost of green energy in the province. Energy Minister Michael Samson has already put an end to Nova Scotia’s community feed in tariff program, and is now looking for other ways to keep costs under control.
The scope of the request looks at halting 10MW of biomass projects, and the impact on renewable energy costs if they are not built in 2016.
