March 1, 2018- BioNB has announced the launch of its first Annual Report for your review. This report demonstrates the wonderful growth and development that has been taking place in New Brunswick’s bioscience community over the past year. We believe this growth is demonstrative of the impact of the bioscience sector on the province’s economic success.

2017 was a banner year for New Brunswick bioscience. Our entrepreneurs worked to advance opportunities that ensure our food security, improve our health and create a cleaner environment. Over 100 New Brunswick companies were involved in bioscience, including start-ups, early-stage and established companies. Some of these new ventures have participated in international accelerator programs and won international pitch competitions while raising millions of dollars in private investment.

“The sector continues its upward trend with regards to number of companies, number of jobs and private capital raised. This is the 3rd year in a row we are seeing increases on all fronts. New Brunswick is definitely proving to be a great sandbox for early-stage bioscience ventures” said Executive Director, Meaghan Seagrave.

Our annual report also highlights profiles of start-ups and researchers working to build the bioscience sector, shines a light on the benefits of bioscience in innovating within our traditional sectors and diversifying our economy, and includes our take on what 2018 holds for our sector.
