Dec. 13, 2018 – The Senate Committee on Agriculture and Forestry recently released a report examining the impact of climate change and carbon pricing on forestry, agriculture and agri-food sectors. The report, called "Feast or Fame: Impacts of climate change and carbon pricing on agriculture, agri-food and forestry," also makes several recommendations for the federal government to follow to support these industries as they work towards meeting Canada's emissions reduction targets.

Nov. 16, 2018 – The federal government is giving SiliCycle, a manufacturer of silica-based products, a repayable contribution of $1 million from Canada Economic Development (CED) for Quebec. The company wants to develop and commercialize products resulting from the conversion of residual biomass.

Nov. 13, 2018 - The federal government today revealed plans to invest $15 million in Granule 777 Inc. in Chapais, Que. The funds will go towards helping the company build a fully integrated industrial wood pellet and sawmill complex.
