Boeing’s jets to be powered by 100 per cent SAF by 2030: chief executive

Newly deployed Boeing commercial jets are expected to emit about one million tonnes of carbon dioxide each over the course of their 20 years-plus lifespans.

In the company’s first-ever sustainability report, Boeing chief executive Dave Calhoun said the company plans to significantly reduce its environmental impact during each stage of the product’s lifespan. He added Boeing’s jets will be powered by 100 per cent sustainable aviation fuel by 2030.

Environmental groups say flying needs to be reeled in to make a meaningful impact on climate change.
