Aug. 20, 2010 – A residential boiler manufactured by SHT of Austria automatically switches from
firewood to wood pellets once the logs have been consumed. Euroheat is the
first company to offer SHT’s TDA Thermodual boiler in the UK market, according
to a recent press release from Boiler Guide, UK. Introduced in 2004, the boiler
comes in 15, 25, and 35 kW formats and takes split logs up to 30 to 50 cm in
length. Once the loaded log supply is consumed (about five to seven hours), it
switches automatically to burning pellets, supplied from an adjoining hopper.
The boiler offers homeowners convenience and flexibility by allowing the use of
firewood while eliminating the need for constant attention and refueling to
maintain heating capacity.
