Jan 14, 2012, Liverpool, NS - Bowater Mersey Paper Co. plans to install equipment to improve heat recovery from steam generated at its Brooklyn Power co-generation plant, according to an article in the Chronicle Herald.
“This additional green power will be sold to Nova Scotia Power,
creating revenue for Bowater Mersey and improving the viability of our
operation,” Bowater spokeswoman Robin Anthony told the paper.
The Queens County paper mill applied to the Energy Department this week
for approval of a project under the province’s community feed-in tariff
program.
Engineering for the biomass project, which would generate 3.3 megawatts of electricity, is underway, Anthony said.
