March 20, 2017 - Candaxa Energy, a renewable fuels company based in Calgary, is pitching to city councillors the idea of Calgary Transit switching to renewable diesel.
According to a report from the Calgary Sun, Candaxa’s Jeff Brookman says the switch would allow Calgary Transit to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 90 per cent, enough to avoid the province’s recently introduced carbon tax. The tax will cost Calgary Transit an expected $3.75 million over the next two years.
Council will vote on a plan to study the use of renewable diesel soon. Read more.
