Canadian Biomass (CB), Canadian Forest Industries (CFI) and Pulp & Paper Canada (P&PC) magazines have launched a new website celebrating women in the forestry sector ahead of International Women’s Day on March 8.

WomeninForestry.ca is an online hub with dozens of original interviews, contributed content, videos and a podcast about women across Canada working in the pulp and paper, wood products, logging and biomass industries.

“Forestry is one of the most important sectors in the Canadian economy, and we’re proud to honour and recognize the significant accomplishments of women,” says Todd Humber, group publisher at Annex Business Media, the parent company of CB, CFI and P&PC.

“There is intense competition for top talent in every industry in every corner of the country, so it’s important for employers to take time and recognize their teams, celebrate diversity and ensure they are building cultures that attract and retain the best employees. The stories featured on WomeninForestry.ca highlight some of the best things happening in the industry today.”

The site, sponsored by John Deere, also contains archival editorial content relating to women in the forest products sector from all three magazines.

New content will roll out on WomeninForestry.ca throughout March, with fresh batch of stories posted annually in time for International Women’s Day. A weekly dedicated e-newsletter will highlight the stories featured on the site for the month of March.

Find more content on WomeninForestry.ca and join the conversation on social media with the hashtag #WomeninForestry, as well as #IWD2020 and #EachforEqual.
