  • Develop a first-hand understanding of the opportunities in bio-based supply chains and sustainable products, particularly in the EU
  • Increase visibility of Canadian products & services to international clients & prospective leads
  • Generate sales through improved market access
  • Gain market intelligence and insights
  • Meet key commercial entities, industry players, and potential buyers, investors and/or partners
  • Participate in business to business meetings

World Bio Markets

The 14th World Bio Markets was a premier assembly for the bio-based economy. With this year’s theme of “Commercialising the Bio-Based Value Chain”, WBM consisted of three unique content streams: Building a Bio-Based Industry; Scale Up & Process Technology; and Sustainable Brands.

This year’s agenda featured thought provoking keynotes from both inside and outside the industry, lively onstage discussions, interactive roundtables, results orientated workshops as well as carefully crafted sessions.

Stockholm Visit

From April 4-5 we continued our mission to Stockholm, Sweden. On April 4, the Embassy of Canada to Sweden hosted a bioeconomy seminar to discuss key development and partnership opportunities between Canadian & Swedish companies, as well as provide a venue for networking.

April 5 consisted of bioeconomy-related site visits in and around Stockholm, as well as B2B meetings.

World Bio Markets 2020

Biomass North will be returning to Amsterdam for World Bio Markets 2020, taking place March 25-27. We will again be bringing a delegation of Canadian companies and organizations looking to attend WBM, as well as participate in knowledge transfer seminars, site visits and B2B meetings in the Netherlands. Tentative dates for the full Mission are March 23-27, 2020 (does not include travel days) and will take place entirely in the Netherlands.

This mission was made possible by support from Global Affairs Canada through the Global Opportunities for Associations (GOA) program.
