CPM, a leading supplier of process equipment and technology, and the world’s largest manufacturer of pellet mills, will showcase technologies to support customer performance and uptime at the 2023 LIGNA industrial trade fair in Hannover, Germany, from May 15-19.

“CPM offers an unparalleled solutions portfolio for the biomass production industry,” said Maarten Visser, general manager, CPM Industrial Solutions, Americas and Europe. “We innovate with our customers in mind to help them improve uptime and productivity, and achieve sustainability initiatives. We are pleased to showcase our newest technologies at this year’s LIGNA event.”

Biomass Pellet Mill 9950

CPM unveils its Pellet Mill PM9950 concept model for the biomass production industry, specifically designed for high throughput at more than 10 tons per hour capacity on soft wood. The new mill can handle the toughest industrial applications, from processing soft wood like Spruce and Southern Yellow Pine as well as other woods including a combination of wood species. Pellet Mill PM9950 will come equipped with Oil Lubricated Rollers (OLR) which are designed to cope with high loads, extend bearing life and maximize uptime. CPM has been developing pellet mills since 1883, and pellet mills for the biomass industry for the last 30 years. The Pellet Mill PM9950 will be made available to customers in late 2024.

CPM introduces patented Twin Track Technology

CPM’s patented Twin Track technology can be seen on display for the first time during LIGNA. Twin Track uses two rollers inside the pelleting die, each with its own track pushing pellets through the die with one long energy-efficient push per revolution using far less power than traditional two- or three-roll pellet mills. Additionally, CPM has increased the hole count per die by up to 43 percent giving a wider pad on the die and thus increasing pellet production per die revolution. Twin Track increases capacity by matching the electrical load used on a normal pellet die or meets capacity requirements using less electricity thus extending die and roller life and lowering cost per ton while decreasing carbon footprint.
