Crews extinguish minor fire at Great Northern Pellets

Dec. 11, 2018 - Fire crews safely extinguished a minor fire at Great Northern Pellets in Upper Musquodoboit, N.S., on the weekend. 

About 20 firefighters responded to the blaze Sunday afternoon, which affected two buildings on site, according to a report in the Chronicle Herald. The source of the fire is still unknown. 

“There were no injuries to our staff and we are pleased to report that our safety equipment and procedures worked as intended and contained the situation,” CEO Thor Olesen told the newspaper. “Thanks to the quick response of the entire team at the mill as well as the local volunteer fire departments, the impact was minimized.”
