March 8, 2016 - To showcase New Brunswick and the region as a place of opportunity with a vibrant entrepreneurship community, New Brunswick’s startup ecosystem is coming together to host the third annual East Coast Startup Week (ECSW).

From March 14 to 19, hundreds of visionaries, disruptors, aspiring and seasoned entrepreneurs, change makers, mentors, investors and students will descend on Fredericton, Moncton, Saint John and other communities in Atlantic Canada, to take part in the third annual series of ECSW events.

Each year, the momentum for ECSW grows with regional events such as the Youth Entrepreneurship Summit (YES Atlantic) in Fredericton anchoring the week, and local events hosted in other communities. ECSW 2016 will be the most inspiring to date with more than 25 events held in New Brunswick’s three major cities. The goal of East Coast Startup Week is to bring Atlantic Canada’s entrepreneurial minded together to discuss ideas, set real change in motion, be inspired and to help aspiring entrepreneurs launch their businesses.

“East Coast Startup Week is an opportunity to talk about all of the positive, innovative things happening here while inspiring others to join in our mission to build a strong economy in Atlantic Canada with a diverse and innovative business community. We’re so proud to be able to bring positive stories of Atlantic Canada to Atlantic Canadians,” said Natasha Dhayagude of Planet Hatch.

Events in this year’s ECSW include workshops, lunch and learns, YES Atlantic hosted by the Pond-Deshpande Centre, the launch of the Millennial Dream documentary, and topics spanning from financial bootcamps, social enterprise, creative problem solving, prototyping, investor readiness and much more. Most events are free, while others are offered for a small cost.
