Oct. 13, 2017 - The Wood Pellet Association of Canada's Safety Committee in co-operation with WorkSafeBC and BC Forest Safety Council are hosting a workshop on process hazard analysis.

WPAC and WorkSafeBC have agreed that the wood pellet industry should work toward implementing Process Safety Management (PSM).

Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) is the foundation of PSM. PHA is intended to obtain the information necessary to make operating decisions that will manage the risk, and improve the safety, of industrial operations such as wood pellet manufacturing. PHA focuses on identifying the potential causes, likelihood and consequences of process accidents by combining the experience, knowledge and intuitive imaginations of expert team members using a selected analytical methodology.

The workshop, titled Introduction to Process Hazard Analysis for the Wood Pellet Industry, will take place in Richmond, B.C., on Nov. 8. Find more details and register here. Registration is limited to 40 participants.
