Jan. 31, 2011, Grand Forks, ND – The Energy
and Environmental Research Center (EERC) at the University of North Dakota is
holding the Biomass ’11: Renewable Power, Fuels, and Chemicals Conference at
the Alerus Center in Grand Forks, North Dakota, on July 26–27, 2011.
Registration for the conference is now open, and the EERC is seeking abstracts
online from anyone interested in speaking at the conference. Presentation
abstracts are due to the EERC no later than March 1, 2011.
“In 2010, attendees from 26 states and
Washington, D.C., attended, with over 65% representing industry. This year, we
have upgraded this event from a workshop to a full conference, allowing us to
reach a much broader audience,” says Chris Zygarlicke, EERC deputy associate
director for research and workshop technical director.
The Biomass ’11 conference will offer a
two-day technical program with topics including trends and opportunities in
using biomass, renewable policies and incentives, renewable fuels, financing
biomass-related projects, biorefinery chemicals and products, biomass for heat
and electricity, biomass feedstocks, and algae. The conference is sponsored by
the EERC’s Centers for Renewable Energy and Biomass Utilization through the
U.S. Department of Energy National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the North
Dakota Department of Commerce Division of Community Services State Energy
Program. For more information on registering, submitting an abstract, or
