October 28, 2014, Montréal, Qué. – Enerkem has reached two deals
to build waste-to-biofuel plants in China, similar to the one that recently
came online in Edmonton.
According to a report from The Globe and Mail, the deals
were reached two Shanghai-based organizations during a trade mission to China
alongside Québec Premier Philippe Couillard.
The deal with Shanghai Environmental Group Co. Ltd. will
involve licensing Enerkem’s technology for the construction of waste-to-biofuel
facilities in China. The other deal involves Shanghai Marine Diesel Engine
Research Institute.
The deals are seen as an international breakthrough for
Enerkem, which is looking to other global markets for licensing opportunities.
