W.H.O. Manufacturing

One of the most important features of the Morbark 3400XT is its standard 2.53 m width, making it legal transport width in any country. It accommodates engines from 402 to 596 kW, and is also available with electric power. The infeed features an additional 60.96 cm in length and sloped sides. Other standard features include an extended platform between the hood and engine for better access for maintenance; removable infeed chain return floor; one 86.36-cm diameter top compression feed roll; a direct-driven internal planetary drive with no chains and sprockets; and four strands of WDH-120 chain in a staggered configuration.

Horizontal grinders don’t have to break the bank. The RH1754 is designed to be a productive horizontal grinder priced within the reach of the small contractor. With low operating costs and versatility to process a wide range of materials, Rayco’s RH1754 is the economical solution for reducing green waste, pallets, lumber scraps, etc., and making high quality mulch. A variety of tooth and screen options allow operators to tailor the end product to achieve their result. Despite its compact size, the RH1754 is outfitted with the same features found on larger grinders. A wide infeed opening accepts pallets and bulky material. Easily removable debris screens and reversing fans keep the radiator clear and extend service intervals. A magnetic head pulley on the discharge conveyor sorts out nails and light metals. And the screens can be changed in minutes to minimize set-up time. The towable version is light enough to be easily transported from on job to the next. For those that want the ultimate in mobility, the RH1754 is available on a heavy-duty steel track undercarriage.

The CBI Magnum Force 6800BT is specifically designed for land clearing companies and yard waste processors who demand high-volume throughput and maximum reliability. It is capable of processing land clearing debris, pallets, clean industrial waste, stumps and logs as quickly as it can be loaded. It’s well suited to produce highly-marketable mulch through its regrinding capability. The hog box features a clam shell opening to provide more room behind the screens for increased throughput and ease of maintenance. This design provides full access and a direct line to lift and remove screens. The push of a single button retracts the two main lock pins, and a second button activates two hydraulic cylinders that lift the entire upper section to a service-friendly vertical position. The hog chamber is a heavy-duty reinforced housing with 100 per cent continuous welds, providing maximum corrosion resistance, and the ultimate rigidity and strength.

The Beast Model 2460XP outperforms in its size class. The 2460XP is equipped with a 60” wide by 30” diameter cuttermill, a 60” wide by 24” mill opening. This machine uses a 30-tooth cuttermill running Bandit’s patented saw-tooth style cutterbodies that regulate the size of the tooth’s bite. Most of the material is sized in the initial cut, so material exits the large screening area quicker. The Brunette Whole log Chipper increases revenue from your fiber supply to produce high quality chips. Designed with the knives extending the full face width of the drum, it produces more uniformed chips from tree length material. Features include easy knife change, wide throat infeed 26” x 40”, also equipped with both a top and bottom hydraulic driven powered feed works, this insures positive feeding of both short and long logs of all species. The drum chipper rotor can be adjusted for either conventional pulp chips or microchips suitable for pellet stock. Built as a modular design, the Brunette chipper can be supplied complete with infeed conveyor, chipper drive motor and hydraulic power unit, all designed on a uniframe suitable of containerizing.


Acrowood Slant Disc Chippers are available in 52”, 61” and 84” disc diameters.  Knife arrangements include four, six or eight knife counts. The unique cutting action of the Slant Disc Chipper has made them a perfect choice for mini chip production, down to ¼” without the need for a feed works. The smaller chips are dried more easily and require less milling to be converted into a size suitable for pellet production. Pellet chips can be produced from logs or sawmill waste wood.  Producing smaller chips using an Acrowood Slant Disc Chipper reduces the required horse power.


Whether your needs are converting waste wood to material for biomass energy, landscaping mulch, or livestock bedding, USNR has the experience and designs to suit each application. USNR’s Wastewood Chipper comes in four sizes and three configurations, handling logs from 11”- 22” diameters. Equipped with a very short spout, its large “J”-shaped opening is typically fed by a vibrating conveyor. Each model accommodates bottom, rear, and top discharge. The helical knives of USNR’s Norman Chipper slice uniform chips instead of scraping them from the stock, eliminating sawdust, slivers, and oversize split ends. Models handle logs from 8.25” to 22” diameters.

Kadant Carmanah
Like all Kadant Carmanah chippers, the 96” Whole Log Chipper is designed to produce high quality chips with a focus on machine longevity and simplified maintenance. The shear pin protected anvil reduces operational costs by limiting damage caused by tramp metal and rock hits. The heavy-duty base is constructed from thick steel sections to minimize flexing under heavy load and permit close knife-to-anvil clearances. Kadant Carmanah’s 96” Whole Log Chipper can easily be adapted to produce either standard pulp chips or micro-chips as small as ¼” for use in the biomass/pellet industry.


Stringer Industries
Stringer Industries manufacturers its own line of waste wood chippers and waste-reduction hogs that are designed and built to improve a mill’s bottom line.
The Stringer Chippers are available in a 48”, 60”, and 70” disc. Not only do they have a maximized throat size to handle large slabs but they also have a cutting action that utilizes the entire knife. The Stringer chipper comes standard with the following features: Easy-Change Clamping System – allows the knives to be changed by one employee; NCK Holders – eliminate the need for counter-knives; and Helical Wear Plates – draws wood up the side of the spout. The Stringer Hogs are built for dependability and ease of maintenance. The hammers are available with replaceable, carbide-welded tips. Sizes range from a 12” opening to a 54” opening.


Many biomass processers see the advantages of a uniform chipped product as a critical part of their fuel mix. Bruks provides fixed horizontal feed biomass drum chippers for solid woody waste reduction producing a uniform, chip-like product whose size and granularity are assured through the use of internal screens. Large chunks and sticks are retained inside the housing until they have been reduced in size by the knives and anvils.  Hard material linings resist wear from bark and grit.  The chipper’s solid construction provides years of reliable service.  The Bruks drum chipper can be chain or belt fed.


Built for land-clearing and pipeline right-of-way operations, the HG6800TX horizontal grinder offers a high-horsepower engine on a tracked machine with a compact design. Featuring 950 hp (708 kW) in a 92,000 lb (41,730.5 kg) class, and an infeed design designed specifically for feeding larger materials such as whole trees and large stumps, the new grinder is built to power through tough materials with less operator interaction. The Series III hard-faced duplex drum offers durability and convenient maintenance, with the ability to remove and replace single hammers and balance the drum externally. Low side walls aid in feeding whole trees and other larger material with less restriction, reducing the need for operator interaction with the material. The SmartFeed system monitors engine rpm and adjusts grinding speed for optimal machine performance.
