March 3, 2021 By Canadian Biomass Magazine
FedEx Corp. plans to become carbon-neutral by 2040. The world’s largest cargo airline is designating more than $2 billion into vehicle electrification, sustainable energy, and carbon sequestration.
The company’s plans also includes a pledge of $100 million to Yale University to help establish a centre for natural carbon capture which will speed up research into methods of carbon sequestration.
“Through the creation of the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture, we aim to develop measurable carbon capture strategies to help offset carbon emissions globally,” Dr. Ingrid C. (Indy) Burke, the Carl W. Knobloch, Jr. dean of the Yale School of the Environment, said in a story published by the Financial Post.
