Fink Machine to hold free biomass boiler system training in B.C.

Fink Machine is holding a three-day advanced wood combustion course in Enderby, B.C., from March 28-30.

Day 1 will feature an overview of advanced wood heating systems, their components, fuel selection, case studies, boiler emissions and Q&A. It will also include a tour of Fink Machine’s district energy system as well as an installation at a furniture manufacturer and Enderby Public Works. It will also include demonstration showing how biomass chips can be produced for use in a boiler system. This session is designed for decision makers, influencers, and non-technical project developers.

Day 2 will feature a detailed review of system components including the safety systems, system design considerations, biomass fuel (selection, chip production and standards), detailed case studies, boiler controls and integration, system operation and maintenance and boiler emissions as well as a detailed Q&A. It will also include a tour of the Fink Machine district energy system and Enderby Public Works. It will also include demonstration showing how biomass chips can be produced for use in a boiler system. This session is geared towards engineers, consultants, operators, and installers who require a higher level of information. Participants may register for either or both days. Sessions will qualify for professional development for registered engineers.

Day 3 will be a review of boiler operation, maintenance procedures, common troubleshooting, and boiler troubleshooting. In addition to being hands on with the boiler at own DE system there will be tours of an installation at a furniture manufacturing plant, Enderby public works and demonstration of fuel production using Fink Machine’s own wood chipper. This session is geared to current operators and maintainers to enhance current training.
