Finland – The Bioenergy Association of Finland, in cooperation with FinnMetko
Exhibition, is organizing the Forest Bioenergy 2010 conference. The conference
will take place from August 31 to September 4 in the cities of Tampere and
Jämsä, Finland. The call for papers is open until February 28, 2010.

The conference
will focus on the factors affecting the future of bioenergy. Currently, an
important role is to create forest energy markets and mobilization. There is a
necessity to learn from examples of how to create markets and overcome barriers
to national and international markets. Some areas such as Russia, North
America, and South America have huge forest resources and will play an
important role in international business.

Also important
is the role of forest energy resources in national strategies. Modern
technologies for forest fuel production, handling transport, and logistics will
be presented and shown during the technical tour to the FinnMetko exhibition.
Combustion and boiler technologies and combined heat and power production from
forest biomass are of importance in practical use. The conference will also
focus on conversion technologies, especially the production of transportation
fuels and pyrolysis. Wood pellets are important in changing heating systems
from fossil fuels to renewables and can also be used in coal power plants.
