FutureMetrics updates dashboard on pellet substitution at coal power plants

FutureMetrics has updated one of its popular dashboards: Calculate the Change in Costs for a Power Station that Substitutes Pellets for Coal.

High thermal coal prices have made pellet fuel an attractive alternative to coal. The dashboard allows many inputs to be changed. For example, see the impact in real time of changing the co-firing ratio of pellet fuel to coal.

Carbon benefits are measured in avoided tonnes per year of emissions. The dashboard shows the impact of a carbon tax, and it can be viewed in dollars, yen, and euros.
