German Fuel cell company partners with Canada’s Ensol
October 2, 2019 By Sunfire

Germany’s Sunfire and Ensol Systems – a leading Canadian manufacturer and supplier for off-grid power solutions – announced their exclusive partnership for the integration, distribution and service of Sunfire fuel cells for the North American market.
Ensol Systems has many years of expertise in the design and integration of off-grid power systems for use in extreme weather conditions. The systems work with natural or liquid gas, including biogas, and are specially developed, built and tested for the harsh Canadian winters at ambient temperatures as low as -40 C. Ensol decided to co-operate with the German manufacturer due to the proven use of Sunfire technology in other regions of the world with similar operating conditions.
“We are excited about Sunfire-Remote 400 and look forward to working closely with the Sunfire team to develop and build integrated hybrid power systems for reliable off-grid power in this area,” said Jim Brasset, business development, Ensol Systems.
The Sunfire-Remote 400 with up to 400 W electrical power is almost twice as efficient as a conventional gas or diesel generator. The power can be retrieved reliably and permanently for months to provide a self-sufficient, clean and quiet power supply. The technology is used in particular in the oil and gas, security and telecommunications industries and offers reliable power supply in these sectors.
“During the development of our fuel cell devices we ensured that they are suitable for all environmental conditions worldwide. It is the ideal and clean replacement for diesel generators,” says Dr. Matthias Boltze, Technical Director of Sunfire Fuel Cells. Andreas Frömmel, Commercial Director, adds: “We have found a strong partner with Ensol in this important market. Canada is a pioneer in the use of sustainable energy systems. Through the co-operation with Ensol, we expect new impulses for the further development and optimization of our systems to serve the worldwide growing demand for off-grid energy solutions with innovative products”.
The two companies complement each other perfectly. Ensol is known for the development of reliable, robust, innovative and above all environmentally friendly energy systems at the highest level. Moreover, Ensol’s solutions are designed for autonomous and low-emission integration into new or existing installations. Sunfire is a leading supplier of fuel cell and electrolysis technologies. In addition to fuel cells for self-sufficient power supply, Sunfire also manufactures single-family house fuel cells, which can be operated with natural or liquid gas.
