Getting into district heating business would be win-win for NWT power: MLA

A member of the legislative assembly in the Northwest Territories suggests the territory’s power corporation gets into the district heating business.

Such a move would not only generate new revenue, but it would also reduce the territory’s greenhouse gas emissions, says Rylund Johnson.

In Yellowknife, a district heating system is already in operation with a wood pellet furnace heating the Fieldhouse, fire hall, public works garage and multiplex.
