Working with government is an important component of running a successful wood pellet business. That’s why it’s on the agenda for the Wood Pellet Association of Canada AGM and Conference, taking place in the nation’s capital Sept. 24-25.

Vaughan Bassett, president of the Wood Pellet Association of Canada, will moderate a panel with government, industry and association experts to discuss how government programs intersect with industry initiatives, and how collaboration can help grow both domestic and export wood pellet markets.

The panel will include Jeff Waring, Director General of the Trade Economics, and Industry Branch of Natural Resources Canada, who will give an overview of NRCan’s forestry funding programs.

BONUS: Pre-conference activities include a networking golf tournament on Sept. 22, followed by a day of certification workshops on Sept. 23. And don’t miss out on the annual Pellet Party, this year taking place at Mill Street Brewery with musical entertainment from Nova Scotian sisters Cassie and Maggie.
