Nearly 9,000 attendees descended upon the CN Centre in Prince George, B.C., for the Canada North Resources Expo (CNRE). The show, which focuses on the forestry, heavy construction, and infrastructure development sectors, took place on May 24 and 25.

Approximately 150 exhibitors spread out across four acres of land, along with the indoor arena, showing off the latest iron and technology for the natural resource sectors. The majority of machinery was spread out in front of the CN Centre, as well as in a nearby field.

This year, the Interior Safety Conference was held in partnership with the CNRE on May 24. The conference’s theme was “Safety Responsibilities – Everyone’s Role,” and saw around 80 attendees listening to speakers discuss topics including cannabis in the workplace and fatigue management. May 25 was Family Day at the CNRE, with many young families enjoying the nice weather, food trucks and, of course, big machinery.

“The show was excellent this year,” said Mark Cusack, national show manager with Master Promotions Ltd., which owns and manages the CNRE.

“Obviously with a show that’s 80 per cent outdoors, weather is a factor, and we were lucky enough to have great weather outside, and the show inside was busy both days, too. We’re very happy with the turnout this year.”

Cusack says plans are already in place for the next iteration of the show in 2021.
